A Fat Guy in a Tight Suit Means You'll Laugh Out Loud

Dream's幫: 五X戰隊 殺入銅鑼灣!!
Dream Aiders: 5 M%ghty M@rphin P$w*r R*ng&rs Invade Copper Gong Bay!

So I can't get over these Dream's幫 guys. I didn't think they were really funny at all in their fake Avatar bit, but then in this bit I laughed so hard I woke up the neighbors. Okay, I loved this one; Dream's幫 decide to dress up like the Power Rangers in 銅鑼灣 and you can tell they avidly watched the show as kids. I honestly believe these guys just put the suits on without planning anything ahead of time and the rest just came naturally. Why? Because it's genius.

They goof around in the most Hong Kong-y way possible, and its awesome. There's slapstick, there's good-hearted nature laughs and very civil-minded behavior, there's a love of absurdity and there's a childlike belief in heroism and ideals. And, a really fat guy dressed up as the Red Ranger.

I guess two posts in one day is a little much, but there isn't much talking/transcribing in this one; the rest is simply comedy gold.

Once again, the Chinese transcript comes first, then a glossary, and then the English transcript. Any suggestions please let me know. In the meantime: Go go go!

If a person has no dream to live for

Then what is the difference between this person and a salted fish?

Four red-blooded passionate youths

Have broken off all ties to their generation to take on the fate of a salted fish

In order to fulfil all of your dreams

From their spirits will emerge a will that is willing and able

Their names are : Dream Aiders

We are the Dream Aiders

Hey Ocean, what are we doing here today in Copper Gong Bay?

Now that we here in Copper Gong Bay, what fun can we have during our stay? [rhymes in Cantonese]

No no no

Today we have an important responsibility

(A Little While Earlier…)

We have gathered a whole big pile of dream requests

Many of them are very creative

However, despite coming up with these ideas, no one is willing and courageous enough to make them come true

At last, these unfulfilled dreams need to be brought to life

Alpine Tea Leaves writes in, he wants to be a “Superman War Team Member” Power Ranger

(can’t do)

He wants to join in too

(nope, no way, can’t do, out of the question)

Why can’t we do this?

Have you heard of the phrase

“Dressing up as a hero in your childhood is pretend; but dressing up as a hero as a fat adult offends?”

Just like our tubby friend Ravine here

What the deuce are you talking about?

Why don’t we give it a try, yes?

So, why don’t we Dream Aiders transform into the Superhero War Members Group?

Dream Aiders, we will turn hair weed into fois gras! [hair weed sound like發財, or get rich]

We are

The Power Rangers

Too slow!

Okay, now we’ll go find some pedestrians

(Mission:) to give encouragement to the citizens of Hong Kong

Hoo-ah!

Yes!

Yah!

Yah!

Yo!

Over there!

We need to find a person for our..

(nuts!)

To find a person for our objective!

Over there!

There is an old saying:

“An iron post will grind into a pin”

What did you just say?

“An iron post will grind into a pin”

Yes

Completely wrong!

We have found a group of classmates

To give encouragement

123

I will study to the best of my abilities, yeah!

?!

Go, go, go

Garbage

“I mean this is the garbage”

Fulfilling one’s responsibility to throw away garbage:

Success!

Actually, being a superhero is not very easy

It’s harder than playing Majong (little bird)

You lose several twenties in a row

Whew, truth be known being a superhero is quite strenuous

But

I will continue to strive harder

We’re going to head over to the bus stop to check out the situation there

Let’s go

Yipeekiyay

Y-y-y-y-yes!

Welcome to Copper Gong Bay!

Welcome

Fragrant Harbor is yours to discover and enjoy

As long as you stay young

You have the ability to push buses

Hong Kong needs and relies on you

Ever since we came and gave them encouragement

They spirits have improved dramatically

They are much more passionate than we are

Honestly speaking, I am too happy

I am crying out loud

My face mask has become wet from my tears

My face mask has never been dried before

Okay, that just about does it for us today

We are very thankful to the Black Ranger (soldier) standing behind us

Thank you

Okay, and remember we are

The Dream Aiders

See you next time, bye bye
